Plasma membrane is made of phospholipid bilayer. it has hydrophillic head and hydrophobic tail.
So if a protein spans through the plasma membrane, it must have structural component which goes with the enviornment of phospholipid bilayer.
The aa at A and C position must have polar charged side chain like lysine. Because of these polar charged side chains they go with hydrophillic enviornment of phospholipid head. Because charged amino acids are hydrophillic in nature.
Amino acid at position B must be nonpolar and their side chain R group should not carry any charge.like alanine,leucine etc can present there.
These uncharged amino acids will bind firmly to the hydrophobic enviornment of phospholipid tail.They show hydrophobic interaction with tail of phospholipid and anchor the transmembrane protein in plasma membrane.
Charged amino acids also help in transportation of charged molecule through plasma membrane.
